Police warn public to stay home after concerns over number of people in Filey

North Yorkshire Police is reminding the public about the lockdown restrictions.
In a social media post, Filey Police said: “We have seen an increase in vehicles and footfall in Filey today, please remember you should only be leaving the house for one of four reasons this week.”

Hide AdThe reasons are for exercise, to buy essentials, to pick up medicine or to travel to work if you cannot work from home.
The statement added: “Our officers will be out across the county this week with a highly visible policing presence, to disperse groups, enforce the social distancing measures and remind people of the seriousness of the situation we are facing.
“We are also stopping motorists across North Yorkshire this week to ensure they understand and are following the government measures and only making ‘essential’ journeys.”
