Year One pupils from the Burniston based Primary School recently had a trip to the Scarborough Lifeboat Station. There, the children learnt about what it takes to be a lifeboat volunteer and why their work is so important.
A spokesperson from Lindhead School said: “We really enjoyed visiting the lifeboat station. We think it is so important that our children know how to stay safe on the beach and where to go if they need help.
"They have learnt how to be water smart and they know to ask for the coastguard when ringing 999. A big thank you to everyone at the Lifeboat Station for showing us around- we are very proud of how you save many lives.”
