Papa’s fish and chips reopening date in Whitby hit by delay
The reopening of Papa’s Fish & Chips in Whitby has been hit by a delay.
Papa’s Whitby, based at the town’s former NatWest Bank overlooking the harbour, aims to become a key part of the Whitby community, creating jobs and supporting tourism while celebrating the rich seaside heritage that makes Whitby unique.
The new restaurant and takeaway will open with a brand-new team, creating several jobs in the town, with the newly recruited team made up of Whitby
residents.

Following the acquisition of the neighbouring property (formerly Shoe Zone), the fish and chip restaurant will reopen with a larger dining area, offering more than 250 covers, including more than 100 on the ground floor, ensuring better accessibility and space for families, groups and coach parties.
However, the reopening of the site – which was due to have been Thursday August 6 – has been hit by a setback, with a delay in the bulding works meaning that the date has been postponed.
Keep an eye out on the Scarborough News website for news of the new date as soon as we have it.
